Aaron grew up in remote villages above the Arctic Circle in northern Alaska—places without stores, hospitals, roads, or even running water. His early experiences shaped a lifelong connection to the outdoors and a deep understanding of self-reliance.
With over 20 years of outdoor experience in the Pacific Northwest and a 20-year career in Alaskan law enforcement, Aaron brings a unique blend of real-world survival knowledge and practical teaching skills. For more than twelve years, he has taught nature-based skills to both youth and adults, covering topics such as homesteading, wilderness survival, arctic survival, and emergency preparedness. He has worked with a wide range of organizations, including government agencies and private groups, and is CPR and First Aid certified with additional training in Wilderness First Aid.
Aaron is a seasoned wilderness educator who enjoys hiking, camping, archery, tracking, animal husbandry, and gardening. He is also an accomplished marksman. Alongside his wife Mandy, Aaron has raised five children and served as a foster parent for over eight years, completing ongoing training in child safety and wellness.
Aaron’s passion lies in teaching survival, emergency preparedness, and homesteading—helping others build confidence, resilience, and practical skills for life.
